Position

The firm has an immediate need for a hazardous material consultant/industrial hygiene professional specializing in asbestos, LBP, and project monitoring. The position includes planning, implementing, and managing hazmat abatement projects and inspection projects in Hawaii and other Pacific Rim Locations. The type of inspections may include reviewing architectural and “as-built” plans, CAD files, and other records to determine areas which may contain asbestos or other hazardous materials.   An in-depth knowledge is required to perform activities related to asbestos/environmental investigations, studies, and evaluations, including: Sampling instrumentation Calibration; appropriate use of sampling and analytical standards; and certification of instrumentation, methodologies, and techniques.

Responsibilities
  • To evaluate technical requirements of projects, outline the tasks including staffing and equipment requirements, prepare cost estimates, scope and project budgets.
  • Ability to generate technical data and reports, and to communicate orally and in writing.
  • Preform Asbestos/LBP Inspections & Air Monitoring Tasks including management
  • Perform Asbestos and LBP Inspections
  • Prepare Inspection Reports
  • Prepare Project Designs
  • Develop Abatement Bid Plans & Specifications and solicit Subcontractor Bids
  • Interface with Clients and develop cost estimates for Asbestos and LBP Services
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree preferred
  • 6 - 10 years experience performing asbestos inspections and preparing asbestos abatement project designs/abatement specifications

  • Experience performing LBP inspections/risk assessments/clearances
  • Certified Hawaii Inspectors licenses preferred
  • 40 hour HAZWOPER Training, a plus
  • NIOSH 582E, a plus
  • Knowledgeable of all applicable regulations and codes related to this practice area.
